We have a 35+ year history that has evolved from syndicating deals in the first 19 years of our existence, to investing high net worth discretionary capital, to then forming institutional separate account/joint ventures over the past 10 years, and most recently investing on behalf of commingled institutional discretionary funds.

Julia Boyd Corso
Co-President and COO
Julia is Co-President and Chief Operating Officer responsible for corporate operations, asset management and repositioning of all investments. She sets the strategic direction of the company and its investment activities as a member of its Investment Committee. Prior to joining IEC, Julia worked in management consulting for Accenture. Julia graduated summa cum laude from Emory University with a B.A. in Economics and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Stanford Real Estate Council.
Co-President and CIO
Marshall is Co-President and Chief Investment Officer as well as a member of the company’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining IEC, Marshall worked on the investment team at TA Associates and in investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston. Marshall graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Spanish. He is vice chairman of the Urban Land Institute’s Multifamily Silver Council and a former board member of The Young Presidents’ Organization.
Pete is Director responsible for equity formation of IEC’s investment vehicles, debt strategy, investor relations and a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining IEC, he worked in the asset management and the interest rate trading divisions of JP Morgan Chase & Co. Pete graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Organizational Development, and holds an MBA with a real estate concentration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Pete is a member of the Urban Land Institute and ULI’s Multifamily Green Counsel.
Senior Asset Manager
David is a Senior Asset Manager responsible for the asset performance and execution of property business plans. He is also a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining IEC, he worked as a financial analyst at Kimco Realty Corporation, a publicly traded REIT. David graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Business Administration, and has passed all three levels of the CFA exams.”
Vice President, Acquisitions
Brendan is Vice President responsible for sourcing and underwriting acquisitions and dispositions as well as a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to IEC, he was an acquisitions associate at Partners Group, a global private equity firm in San Francisco. Previously he was a financial analyst at The JBG Companies where he acquired, disposed and recapitalized assets exceeding $980 million in total value. Brendan graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Management.
Christine is responsible for investment and corporate financials. Prior to joining IEC, she was the senior controller for Harvest Properties, a Bay Area‐based commercial real estate investment firm where she was instrumental in setting up accounting and financial reporting procedures as part of the company’s initiation. Christine graduated from San Jose State University with B.S. degrees in Finance and Accounting.
Assistant Fund Controller
Carolyn Choi is an Assistant Fund Controller. Carolyn previously worked as a senior fund controller at Tishman Speyer Properties, L.P. in New York, responsible for funds with over $3 billion in commitments. Carolyn graduated from University of California Davis with a B.A. in Economics, and is a CPA.
Human Resources Manager
Denise is responsible for human resources and office management. She manages the corporate office in Los Altos and provides support to the regional offices. She is also the payroll administrator for the company. Previously, Denise worked in human resources and office services management roles for technology firms in Silicon Valley. Denise graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.S. in Home Economics.
Renovation Project Manager
David is responsible for the execution of construction and renovation projects across IEC’s portfolio. He also helps to maintain compliance with local Building Departments, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies. Prior to joining IEC, David was a senior project manager for Prometheus Real Estate Group on a team that managed capex for 17,000 multifamily units. He also served with executive leadership for two respected general construction firms in California and was a licensed California General Contractor for 15 years.
Miles is responsible for managing all real estate transactions. He oversees contracts, property diligence, loans and insurance. Miles graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Law and Society, and has a real estate license from Allied School of Real Estate.
Kristina supports the acquisitions and capital formation teams responsible for performing financial analysis of prospective acquisitions, preparing investment memos, and analyzing market data. Previously Kristina worked as a financial analyst at Wells Fargo in San Francisco, underwriting construction and term balance sheet loans. Kristina graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.B.A.
Ryan supports the asset management team responsible for performing financial analysis, preparing monthly and quarterly asset management reports, and assisting in strategic operational initiatives. Prior to joining IEC, Ryan interned at Clay Cove Capital and CBRE in investment sales. Ryan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Urban Studies, with a concentration in Economics.
Mike is an Analyst who supports the acquisitions and capital formation teams responsible for performing financial analysis of prospective acquisitions, preparing investment memos, and analyzing market data. Prior to joining IEC, Mike was an associate at RealtyShares, where he was responsible for underwriting acquisitions and assisting with due diligence. Mike graduated from the University of Southern California and holds a B.S. in Business Administration.
